Service Plus is there to protect you against the high cost of unplanned repair bills for appliances, lawn care or electronics purchases (Excludes: computers, laptops, tablets and gaming systems.) By purchasing Schewels Service Plus warranty coverage you now have the security of knowing you will not be faced with an unanticipated high repair charge. Schewels will have the item transported where applicable, have the necessary repair work performed, and return the unit to you at no additional charge.

Schewels Service Plus covers complete parts and labor. This includes normal wear and tear.

Schewels Service Plus is performed by skilled technicians.

Schewels Service Plus lets you pay for tomorrow’s rising repair costs today.

Schewels Service Plus will replace the item if we can’t fix it. Schewels Service Plus is backed by Schewel Furniture Company with over a 100 years tradition of providing outstanding service and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

The purchase of this service is not required for an appliance or electronics purchase (Excludes: computers, laptops, tablets and gaming systems.) or to obtain financing for such purchase.

1. Place of Service: If you have purchased Schewels Service Plus for coverage of a large item, repairs normally will be performed at the address shown on your contract (or other address if we are notified). Should in-shop repairs be necessary, Schewels will arrange for your item to be picked up and transported for repair. Once the necessary repairs have been made, the item will be returned to you. If the item covered by your Schewels Service Plus purchase is easily transportable, you will be responsible for delivery of the product to your Schewels store, and for pick-up after completion of the service work.

2. To obtain service: If the product you have purchased needs service, call the Schewels phone number listed on the sales contract and explain the problem. If it is determined that service is required, you will be informed as to what further actions will be necessary.

3. Service provided: In consideration of payment for Schewels Service Plus, Schewels will have an authorized service center furnish labor and replacement parts as may be necessary to maintain the product purchased in proper operating condition during the term of this agreement, provided such service is necessitated as a result of product failure during normal non-commercial usage. Schewels Service Plus does not cover products purchased for commercial use. If you decide to use the product purchased for commercial use after the purchase, your Schewels Service Plus plan will be cancelled and we will refund to you the remaining monthly prorated unearned portion of one hundred percent of the net premium paid to that point for this plan, minus an administrative fee of 10 percent of the amount of the pro rata refund. Schewels Service Plus begins the day of original sale and remains in force until the end of the Schewels Service Plus agreement. Schewels Service Plus covers parts, labor and transportation, where applicable. If a repair or part replacement performed under Schewels Service Plus is also covered under manufacturer’s warranty, Schewels Service Plus will perform the service and seek indemnification from the manufacturer. Schewels will make every effort to have service provided on an expedient basis for your product. Due to occasional delays in obtaining necessary repair parts by authorized service centers, Schewels cannot guarantee the length of time necessary to service your product, nor will it be liable for any damages arising out of delays in repair.

4. Product parts, components and services not covered: This agreement covers only the operating conditions of your product and does not cover: non-operating parts such as cabinets, frames, antennas, dials, drawers, shelves, filters, glass or any installation accessory item. It does not cover cleaning of the product or any of its parts necessary to maintain operating performance. Coverage is limited to the basic product purchased and excludes any type of add-on equipment, remote control equipment, or items added at a later date. Schewel Furniture Company is not liable for special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

5. If this agreement covers a mower or other small engine product: The engines in these products are designed to run on gasoline with up to 10 percent ethanol (E-10). Use of unapproved gasolines with greater than 10 percent will damage the engine components and void the Schewels Service Plus Warranty as it applies to the engine. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that gasoline used does not exceed 10 percent ethanol.

6. Food spoilage - refrigeration appliance: If this agreement covers a refrigeration appliance and spoilage occurs as the result of a failure of its refrigeration system, Schewels is not responsible for food or other items stored therein or protected thereby which became spoiled or unusable as the result of such failure.

7. Fire, theft, misuse and other service exclusions: Schewels Service Plus does not cover service, maintenance, repair or replacement necessitated by any loss or damage resulting from any cause, other than normal usage including but not limited to: commercial use, misuse and abuse. Service necessitated by fire, water, windstorm, hail, lightning, earthquake, theft, negligence, riot, power interruptions or fluctuations, or any other external peril whatsoever shall not be covered.

8. Transfer: Schewels Service Plus is not transferable by you to any other party except under the written acceptance of Schewel Furniture Company and payment of a $20.00 transfer fee.

9. Product repair parts: If the unit or a component covered under Schewels Service Plus requires repair, Schewels may, at its option, authorize repair, replacement or exchange with an equivalent product, unit, or component part that is new or has been repaired or rebuilt.

10. Limit of liability: Services provided under Schewels Service Plus may only be performed by a service center authorized by Schewel Furniture Company. Repair charges for parts and labor not authorized by Schewel Furniture Company for any product under this agreement shall be the responsibility of the person who purchased the product. This plan does not cover service charges where it has been determined that repairs were not necessary.

11. Replacement: If a product is replaced under Schewels Service Plus, there will be no further repair or replacement of the product, and Schewels’ liability under this agreement will terminate with such replacement. You will be invited to purchase a new Schewels Service Plus plan for your replacement item.

12. Cancellation for nonpayment: If any payment for Schewels Service Plus is not paid when due, Schewels has the right to terminate the plan without liability.

13. Termination for other cause: If service cannot be provided due to removal or alteration of the product’s serial number, or because the purchaser has committed a fraud upon Schewels, Schewels shall have the right to terminate Schewels Service Plus without liability. If we exercise this right, we will refund to you the remaining monthly prorated unearned portion of one hundred percent of the net premium paid to that point for this plan, minus an administrative fee of 10 percent of the amount of the prorated refund. If service cannot be provided because of unavailability of parts, Schewels shall have the right to terminate this agreement without liability and the full premium shall be returned.

14. Cancellation: You have the right to cancel Schewels Service Plus at any time. If you elect to cancel within thirty days after the original purchase date, you will receive a full refund either in cash or credit on account. If you elect to cancel after 30 days, we will refund to you the remaining monthly prorated unearned portion of one hundred percent of the net premium paid to that point for this plan, minus an administrative fee of 10 percent of the amount of the prorated refund.

15. Entire agreement: This instrument sets forth the entire agreement between you and us and no representation, promise or condition made by any party not specifically stated herein shall modify the terms of the Schewels Service Plus. This agreement may not be modified except in writing by both parties.
